YIELD

SYNOPSIS

A young couple is locked in a frozen embrace in their living room. The true nature of their relationship is revealed as this moment is paused, reversed, replayed, re-scored and interrupted with subjective glimpses of past and fantasized moments. Utilizing match-cut editing, repetition of gestures across multiple (real and imagined) landscapes, and multiple versions of the same popular love songs, Yield is an experiential meditation on romantic nostalgia and a lover’s impulse to recreate a moment in its compromised memory.

COMMENTS

"Just how dangerous can it be to fall in love? In this experimental film, classic love songs are wonderfully juxtaposed with images of a love affair gone wrong, revealing the darkness lurking behind any intense passion." - Center of Asian American Media
